01

Scope and responsibility

This Privacy Policy applies to the website at pelmarilearning.com and to online education services offered under the Pelmari Learning name. It applies to prospective learners, purchasers, learners, workshop participants, and other people who interact with the website or services. It does not govern a third-party website, platform, payment service, video-conferencing service, or application that publishes its own privacy notice.

Pelmari Learning determines why and how personal information is used for its own business activities. Some information may also be processed by Shopify, payment processors, online course platforms, virtual-meeting providers, cloud hosting providers, or other vendors acting under their own terms or on documented instructions. The specific vendors in use may change as the website and programs develop.

02

Information a person provides

Information may be provided when a person places an order, creates or uses an account, enrolls in a course or program, attends a live session, requests support, exercises a privacy right, or communicates directly with Pelmari Learning. Depending on the interaction, this may include a name, email address, postal address, telephone number, billing details, selected offering, transaction details, account credentials, learning goals, scheduling information, messages, assignments, responses, and support history.

The inquiry, review, assistant-escalation, and contact-page forms use Shopify contact-form delivery. Information entered into those forms is transmitted for review and response. Checkout, account, or learning-platform functions may process additional information when separately enabled, and each active function should be evaluated before launch.

Payment-card information is generally entered directly into a payment processor's secure interface. Pelmari Learning may receive limited transaction information, such as payment status, amount, date, and an order reference, but does not need the complete card number to administer an order.

03

Information processed automatically

When a person uses the website or an online learning platform, technical information may be processed automatically. This can include an Internet Protocol address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, approximate location derived from an IP address, referring page, pages viewed, interaction events, timestamps, error information, and cookie or similar identifiers.

Necessary technical data supports site delivery, security, fraud prevention, session continuity, checkout, account access, and troubleshooting. Analytics or preference data may be used only when the applicable configuration and consent requirements permit. The exact data available to Pelmari Learning depends on the platform and settings in use.

04

How information may be used

Personal information may be used to provide the requested course, session, workshop, training, materials, or guided program; process and document a purchase; create and maintain access; communicate operational information; schedule live activities; respond to questions; provide support; protect accounts and systems; enforce applicable terms; maintain business and tax records; resolve disputes; and comply with law.

Information may also be used to understand whether website and program functions operate correctly, improve organization and usability, develop future offerings, and send service-related communications. Promotional communications should be sent only where there is an appropriate permission or other lawful basis, and a recipient may use the stated opt-out method for those messages.

Pelmari Learning does not use a learner's participation to promise employment, income, licensing, certification, academic credit, or any particular personal or professional outcome.

05

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies, pixels, local storage, and comparable tools may support necessary website functions, preferences, measurement, or marketing. Necessary technologies may operate because the site cannot provide a requested function without them. Nonessential technologies should be activated only in accordance with the applicable consent choices and law. More information appears in the Cookie Policy.

Browser controls may block or delete cookies, but doing so can affect sign-in, checkout, course access, saved preferences, or other features. If the site implements a privacy preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, that signal will be handled as required by applicable law and the site's technical capabilities.

06

When information may be disclosed

Information may be disclosed to vendors that provide website hosting, e-commerce, payment processing, course delivery, video conferencing, email, storage, security, analytics, accounting, professional advice, or customer support. Vendors receive information relevant to their function and may be subject to contracts, platform terms, confidentiality duties, and applicable data-protection law.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with a lawful request, protect legal rights, investigate fraud or security incidents, protect a person from harm, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of business assets. If a business transfer occurs, the recipient may use the information subject to this Policy or an updated notice.

Pelmari Learning does not knowingly sell personal information for monetary consideration. If advertising or data-sharing practices are later introduced that constitute a sale or targeted-advertising disclosure under applicable law, the notice and opt-out mechanisms should be updated before those practices begin.

07

Retention

Information is retained for the period reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, including delivery of purchased access, account administration, support, financial reporting, tax and legal records, security, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements. Different categories may have different retention periods.

When information is no longer reasonably required, it may be deleted, anonymized, or isolated according to the capabilities of the systems holding it. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until overwritten through ordinary system processes. Legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute-related obligations can require longer retention.

08

Security

Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards are used or required of relevant service providers according to the nature of the information and service. These may include access restrictions, account controls, secure platform settings, encrypted transport, vendor review, backups, and incident response practices.

No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Learners are responsible for protecting their login credentials, using a suitable device and network, and notifying Pelmari Learning promptly if they suspect unauthorized account access.

09

Privacy choices and requests

Depending on location and applicable law, a person may have rights to request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, portability, restriction, or an explanation of processing. Some people may also have rights to opt out of targeted advertising, certain profiling, or a sale of personal information. These rights are subject to legal definitions, verification, exemptions, and retention obligations.

Colorado residents may have rights under the Colorado Privacy Act when the law applies, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out rights. A request may be sent using the contact information below. The requester may need to provide information sufficient to verify identity and the request. Authorized-agent requests may require proof of authorization. If a request is denied, the response will describe any appeal method required by applicable law.

A person may also update available account information through the relevant platform, change cookie choices through an available preference control, or opt out of eligible marketing messages using the instructions provided with the message.

10

Children's privacy

The general website and offerings are not directed to children under 13, and Pelmari Learning does not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13 without the authorization and notices required by law. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information should contact Pelmari Learning so the matter can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.

An offering intended for a minor must be purchased or authorized by a parent or legal guardian where required. Program-specific rules may establish a higher minimum age or require adult participation. Pelmari Learning should not request more information from a minor than is reasonably necessary for the authorized activity.

11

United States processing and international visitors

Pelmari Learning is based in Colorado, United States, and information may be processed and stored in the United States or in other locations used by service providers. Privacy laws and government-access rules may differ from those in a visitor's home jurisdiction. A person using the website from another country is responsible for determining whether the available service is suitable and lawful in that location.

12

Changes to this Policy

This Policy may be updated to reflect changes in services, platforms, legal requirements, or business practices. The revised version will display a new “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how previously collected information is used, additional notice or consent will be provided when required.
