What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file stored by a browser when a website is visited. Cookies can remember a session, security state, checkout, preference, or identifier. Similar technologies include local storage, software development kits, tags, pixels, and device identifiers.

Some technologies last only during a browsing session and are removed when the browser closes. Others remain until their expiration date or until the user deletes them. A first-party technology is set in connection with the visited domain; a third-party technology may be set by an integrated provider.

How this website may use them

Technologies may be used to deliver and secure the website, remember settings, support checkout and accounts, provide course access, diagnose errors, measure site use, or support communications and marketing where permitted. The exact technologies present depend on the active Shopify theme, installed applications, payment tools, course platform, and consent configuration.

The inquiry, review, assistant-escalation, and contact-page forms use Shopify contact-form delivery when submitted. Other enabled platform functions, such as checkout or account access, may use necessary cookies and process information separately.

Strictly necessary technologies

Necessary technologies support functions requested by the visitor or needed for security and network delivery. Examples may include session continuity, load balancing, fraud prevention, privacy choices, cart or checkout state, account authentication, and access control.

Because disabling these technologies may prevent the site from operating, they may not be controlled through an optional-cookie preference tool. A user can still block them through browser settings, but checkout, sign-in, and course functions may fail.

Preference technologies

Preference technologies can remember choices such as language, display setting, region, or interface state. They are intended to make repeat use more consistent but are not always essential. If used, they should follow the applicable consent and platform settings.

Analytics technologies

Analytics tools can help identify which pages are visited, how visitors move through the site, whether an error occurs, and whether an interface is usable. Reports may aggregate or pseudonymize data, but identifiers and technical information can still constitute personal data under some laws.

Analytics should be configured with data minimization, reasonable retention, and consent controls where required. Pelmari Learning should update this Policy and any preference interface when an analytics provider is added or materially changed.

Advertising and marketing technologies

Advertising pixels or similar tools can measure campaigns, limit repetition, or select advertising based on activity. These tools are not necessary to deliver a purchased course and can trigger additional legal requirements, including consent or opt-out rights.

If targeted-advertising technology is enabled, the site should clearly identify the applicable category and provide required controls before activation. Pelmari Learning does not treat silence or continued browsing as consent where affirmative consent is legally required.

Third-party providers

Shopify, a payment processor, video provider, course platform, embedded-media provider, security service, or analytics service may set or read technologies when its function is used. Each provider may determine some processing under its own privacy notice.

A third party can change its technology, name, or duration independently. A current cookie preference panel or browser storage inspection may therefore provide more precise real-time information than a static policy. Pelmari Learning will make reasonable updates when its configured tools materially change.

Consent and preference controls

Where a cookie banner or privacy preference panel is available, a visitor can use it to accept, reject, or adjust nonessential categories. A later change generally applies going forward and may not automatically delete an identifier already stored; browser controls can be used to remove stored data.

A consent record may itself be stored as a necessary preference so the website can remember the selection. A preference may need to be requested again after a material configuration change or after the record expires.

Browser and device controls

Most browsers allow users to view, block, or delete cookies and restrict site storage. Instructions differ by browser and device. Private-browsing modes may limit persistence but do not necessarily prevent all processing. Blocking all storage can affect carts, accounts, payment, media, and course access.

Mobile operating systems and browsers may also provide tracking, advertising, or permission controls. These controls are supplied by the device or software provider rather than Pelmari Learning.

Global Privacy Control and similar signals

Some browsers or extensions send preference signals such as Global Privacy Control. When a signal is legally required to be honored and can be associated with relevant processing, the website and configured providers should treat it as an applicable opt-out request. A signal may not disable strictly necessary technologies or processing outside its legal scope.

“Do Not Track” is not interpreted consistently across the industry. The website may not respond to a generic Do Not Track header unless required, but will follow legally recognized signals as applicable.

Retention

Cookie duration depends on purpose and provider. Session cookies generally expire after the session. Persistent cookies may remain for a defined period. Necessary security or transaction records associated with a cookie may be retained separately for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute purposes.

Nonessential identifiers should not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for their disclosed purpose. Browser deletion removes the copy on that device but may not delete records already lawfully created on a provider's server.

Updates to this Policy

This Policy may change when the website, course platform, consent tools, or legal requirements change. A new “Last updated” date will identify the revised version. Material changes may also be described through a banner or preference interface where appropriate.

Questions and privacy requests

A question should identify the device, browser, approximate date, and relevant page without sharing passwords or payment-card details. Privacy rights concerning associated personal information are explained in the Privacy Policy.
